About the Course

Kiwi's Custom Guns is an approved CCW Training Provider for the following issuing agencies: Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office, Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office, Calaveras County Sheriff's Office, Merced County Sheriff's Office, and Turlock Police Department
In this renewal 4-hour CCW course students will learn legal updates and ethical aspects of carrying and utilizing a firearm for self-defense including de-escalation. Students will also be exposed to and demonstrate the following:
Four basic firearms safety rules
Drawing from a concealed holster
All students will be required to pass a written test and shooting qualification at the end of the class before a certificate is issued. Students must qualify with each firearm to be listed on their certificate.

CCW COURSE 4-HOUR RENEWAL MANDATORY EQUIPMENT LIST:
Semi-Auto handgun with at least two magazines (three magazines if they are single stack) or revolver with speed loaders. You must qualify with each of the handguns (up to five) that are to be listed on your certificate.
50 rounds of ammunition for the course and 25 rounds of ammunition for each handgun you intend to qualify with.
Factory loaded ammunition ONLY. No Reloads.
Quality holster that attaches to the belt. IWB-Inside the Waistband or OWB-Outside the Waistband (Kydex preferred).
***No SERPA, Vanguard (Bikini), or shoulder type holsters allowed.***
Sturdy belt capable of supporting a handgun and magazine pouch
Wrap around eye protection and hearing protection.
Note taking material
Please wear clothing suitable for training on a range environment. Open toed shoes, flip flops, and tank tops are not allowed. Pants/leggings and a baseball hat are highly recommended.

Scott is currently an active-duty police sergeant and oversees firearms training for his department. Scott began his law enforcement career in 2000 and has held assignments in Patrol, Street Gang Suppression, FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, Community Oriented Policing, Street Level Drug & Gang Detective (including plain clothes operations), 11-year SWAT Team member (Entry and Sniper/Observer with two agencies), Firearms instructor (Both Academy and Department), and Field Training Officer.
Scott holds instructor certifications in both private sector and CA POST courses in handgun, carbine, shotgun, long rifle, red dot handgun (RDS), and low light firearms employment. He has also certified in many other operator level firearm and tactical courses presented by private sector companies as well as law enforcement presenters including but not limited to: Vehicle Close Quarters Battle (VCQB), Low Light Operator, Tactical Carbine, and Tactical Handgun.
